Press release for the 9th Turkmenistan Telecommunications & IT Conference – TurkmenTEL 2015

 

 
 

Turkmenistan’s leading telecommunications event, TurkmenTel 2015, the 9th international conference on telecommunications, telemetering and information technology, is taking place at Ashgabat’s Sergi Koshgi exhibition centre from 16-18 September.
 
The conference is organised by the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan in cooperation with Summit Trade Events Ltd (UK).
 
The international TurkmenTel conference is considered the largest event in Central Asia covering the entire spectrum of the telecommunications market.
 
In their welcome letter to participants of TurkmenTel 2015, the organising committee noted that, “over many years Turkmenistan has been fundamentally modernising its communications industry and continues to develop and reform communications systems and telecommunications networks, terrestrial and satellite broadcasting, and legal and regulatory spheres of activity in IT services.”
 
From year to year, the Turkmenistan Government contributes to the development of international and regional cooperation in the IT sphere. The communications industry is intrinsically linked to other important industries and sectors of Turkmenistan’s economy, and therefore Turkmenistan’s policy on modernisation and complying with international standards is a priority.
 
The organisers of TurkmenTel 2015 have prepared a wide range of topics to be covered at the conference, which reflect the latest achievements in the industry and issues of resolving this fast growing sector’s current and prospective needs. The conference will present numerous opportunities for making contact with leaders of the ICT sector, as well as high-ranking representatives of government institutions and organisations.
 
This year, the amount of conference participants has reached a record number – 300 delegates. Over 80 companies from 24 countries will be represented at the conference. Among countries represented will be Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Austria, Belgium, Belarus, China, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the UK, the UAE, America, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Switzerland.
 
The Turkmenistan delegation will be headed by Bairamgeldy Ovezov, Minister of Communication of Turkmenistan. The delegation will also include Ashir Garaev, Minister of Communication of Turkmenistan; Alladurdy Ataev, Chair of the National Space Agency under the President of Turkmenistan; Maksat Astankulov, Director of Turkmen Khemrasy; Dayanch Gulgeldiev, Chair of the 5th Asian Games Executive Committee; Batyr Orazdurdiyev, Head of the Centre of Telemetering Services Turkmentelekom; Khadzhimyrat Khudaiguliyev, General Director, Turkmentelekom; Vitaly Pastushenko, Deputy Director Altyn Asyr, and others.
 
Among international VIP guests this year, will be Nuruddin Mukhitdinov, General Director of the Regional Association of Communications; Abdul Razzaq Vahidi, Minister of Communications and IT of the Republic of Afghanistan; Zaur Hasanov, Director of Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM); Andrey Untila, Programme Officer, ITU Area Office for the CIS.
 
Among Turkmen organisations taking part will be the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan, GTS, Altyn Asyr, Turkmenpochta, Turkmentelekom, Turkmenkhemra, and many more.
 
International participants will include global telecommunication companies such as Huawei Tech Investment Co., SSI Monaco, ThalesAlenia Space, Thales Group, HP, Sony Professional Solutions Group, Avaya, Axis Communications, Eastwind, EVS, Hughes Network Systems, IDirect, InfiNet Wireless, Iskratel, Kaspersky Lab Kaz, NorthStar SiteTel, Peter Service, Panasonic, Rostelekom, Information Satellite Systems – Reshetnev Company, TTG International, Unify and many more.
 
This year, the wide conference programme will include a number of themed sessions. The conference will open with the plenary session, where participants will talk about the prospective development of the ICT sector in Turkmenistan and the creation of a global partnership.
 
Among other topics covered in the two-day programme will be the introduction of satellite communication systems, Turkmenistan’s integration into the international information sphere, information technology as a key factor for developing human capital in Turkmenistan, information security, and a report on the current state and further opportunities for developing mobile, landline and online communications in Turkmenistan.
 
A special session will be dedicated to the use of ICT in major sporting events, where participants will share their experience and issues will be discussed surrounding the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2017.
 
As part of the conference, participants will get the opportunity to hold talks for making new business contacts with high-ranking representatives of government institutions and organisations in Turkmenistan, which will undoubtedly contribute to tasks being achieved to develop ICT in Turkmenistan and other countries.
